Meet the Captain: Carlos

Carlos is the skipper behind Menorca Boat Trip and the person you’ll find on board during our private sailing trips from Cala Galdana.

Carlos is a professional skipper with more than 10 years of experience at sea, sailing both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Over the years, he has navigated in different parts of the Mediterranean, including the Greek Islands, as well as Atlantic waters such as the Canary Islands. Today, he brings that experience to Menorca, where he skippers our private sailing trips from Cala Galdana along the island’s south coast.

His experience goes beyond simply knowing the coastline. Understanding how wind, sea conditions and changing weather can affect each trip is an essential part of deciding where to sail, where to stop and how to create a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone on board.

Rather than following exactly the same itinerary on every trip, Carlos adapts the route to the conditions and to the people on board, always putting safety and a relaxed experience first.

Experience Sailing Menorca’s South Coast

Sailing from Cala Galdana gives Carlos first-hand knowledge of one of Menorca’s most beautiful stretches of coastline.

Depending on the sea and wind conditions, our trips may explore areas around Cala Mitjana, Mitjaneta, Macarella, Macarelleta, Cala Turqueta, Trebalúger and other coves along the south coast.

Knowing these waters is not only about knowing where the beaches are. Conditions can vary considerably from one day to another, so deciding where to sail, where to stop and how long to stay is always part of the experience.

Based in Cala Galdana

Cala Galdana is the starting point for our own sailing trips and the area from which Carlos regularly explores Menorca’s south coast.

Its location provides direct access to coves such as Mitjana, Macarella and Turqueta, while also making it possible to adapt the route according to the conditions on the day.

A Personal Approach to Every Trip

No two days at sea are exactly the same.

Some guests want to spend most of their time swimming and snorkeling, while others prefer a slower day sailing, discovering the coastline or spending more time in a particular cove. Families with children may also need a completely different pace.

Because our own trips are private and limited to small groups, Carlos can adapt the experience while always taking the weather and sea conditions into account.
