Boat trips from Cala Galdana: boarding and routes

I’m Carlos, skipper at Caballo Blanco Charter. Our own sailboat leaves from Cala Galdana, on Menorca’s south coast. If you are planning a boat trip from here, start with three things: the exact meeting point, how much time you want on the water and the conditions on the day. Those details matter more than a long list of beaches.

Where do you meet for a boat trip from Cala Galdana?

For Caballo Blanco Charter, the address shown on our contact page is Passeig des Riu, s/n, Urb. Serpentona, Cala Galdana. Use the instructions for your booking to confirm exactly where and when to meet. A pin for Cala Galdana beach is not, by itself, an instruction for boarding a particular boat.

You can find the address and contact details on our Cala Galdana meeting-point page. If anything is unclear, contact us before setting off.

Getting to Cala Galdana before departure

If you are driving, allow time to park and walk to the meeting point as well as for the drive itself. If you are arriving by taxi or bus, check the drop-off or stop and the return journey before choosing your departure time. Check current bus timetables for your travel date; don’t build the day around an old timetable.

Our own sailboat boards in Cala Galdana only. Staying in Ciutadella or Maó does not mean the boat will collect you there. If someone in your group has difficulty stepping onto a boat, ask us about boarding before booking so we can discuss the practical details.

Which coves are near Cala Galdana?

To the west are Macarella and Macarelleta, with Cala Turqueta farther along the coast. To the east are Mitjana and Mitjaneta, followed by Trebalúger. They are possible places to explore from Cala Galdana, not a promise that every departure will visit them all.

For a closer look at the eastern coves, see our guide to Mitjana and Mitjaneta.

If Turqueta is on your list, our Cala Turqueta guide explains more about the beach itself.

What changes between a four-hour and a full-day trip?

With four hours, keep the plan focused: time along the coast, time to stop and time to return. An eight-hour day gives us more room to spend longer at suitable stops or explore farther when conditions allow. It still does not make every cove on both sides of Cala Galdana a fixed itinerary.

Decide what you would enjoy most: more time swimming, a longer stretch of coastline or simply an unhurried day aboard. Tell me if there is a particular cove you hope to see, and we can discuss what is realistic for your trip.

Why the route depends on the sea

The water inside the bay is only part of the picture. Wind and swell along the coast also affect the direction we take and where it makes sense to stop. A sunny forecast alone cannot tell you whether a particular cove will be comfortable that day.

As skipper, I choose the route with safety and comfort in mind. We may adjust the plan; if conditions do not allow the trip to operate, the weather terms for your booking apply. Our sailboat trips stay on the south coast, so a change of weather does not mean moving the departure to a northern port.

Choose your boat, then prepare for the day

Our classic sailboat takes up to five passengers plus the skipper. Before choosing, look at the sailboat we use from Cala Galdana to check its layout and equipment.

Once you have your departure details, use the guide to what to bring on your boat trip to prepare your bag.
